1,000 push ups in one setting! #PushUpChallenge

Just set a new personal record!!! 1,000 push ups in one setting! Took me just under 50 minutes in increments of 20! Killer work out!

I’ve been experimenting with some new work out routines. Over the past month and a half I’ve barely touched a weight. Pretty much all body weight exercises, Jiu Jitsu, and high repetition speed drills. Putting on so much mass that my arms are barely fitting in my shirt sleeves. So never listen to the myth that you can only gain muscle by doing heavy weight lifting. I’ve always preferred light weights and body weight exercises because they keep my fast twitch reaction muscles quick, joints feel great, and no injuries.#FunctionalMovements
Several folks have reached out asking for a routine and/or a method to build up to 1,000 push ups, so I wanted to share a simple exercise approach to quickly accomplishing this feat.
Anyone can do this!
WORK OUT #1:  Start out with 100 push ups.  And some people may be thinking, “I can’t even do 10 push ups!!”  That’s okay…just do what you can and then take a break.  If you can only do 5 push ups, then do that, and take a rest.  Then repeat.  This is why it is CRITICAL to use a timer.  If it takes you an hour to do 100 push ups because of the needed breaks then you’ll have a baseline on where to improve from.
After you’ve completed this work out 5x then move on to next level.  (Try to spread out over a week or two)

WORK OUT #2: 250 push ups.  Again, see how quickly you can do this, write down your time.

Complete 5x before moving onto next level.

WORK OUT #3: 500 push ups

Complete 5x before moving onto next level.

WORK OUT #4: 750 push ups

Complete 5x before moving onto next level.

WORK OUT #5: 1,000 push ups

Once you’ve reached this then work on bringing your time down.  Instead of doing increments of 20, see if you can increase it to 50.  Eventually perhaps being able to do 1,000 in one setting!

And for those that are skeptical about being able to put on muscle mass with a routine as simple as this, I have a very very simple challenge for you…For one solid month (30 days) do just 100 push ups every single day.  Within one month you will be blown away at the gains in your chest and arms.  Most people notice substantial muscle mass gain in just the first week or two.

If you’re up for the challenge and/or have completed leave a comment below as I’d love to hear about your progress, your times, and your experience! Cheers!
