Planner Set Up: Bullet Journal + Spiraldex + GTD Method
Planner Set Up: Bullet Journal + Spiraldex + GTD Method
I discovered the Bullet Journal System about a year ago and immediately fell in love with it’s simplicity. Being of the Gen Y era I have always preferred keeping all my journals and planners digital, i.e. Google Calendar, Evernote, etc. But there is just something magical that happens when you connect pen/pencil to paper. And there is research to back up. Studies show that because it takes a little longer to write that it more activates the right side of your brain (the creative side). Yes, I’m all about efficiency, but I do have to admit that I agree with the research. I kind of find it meditative to slow down and to take the extra time to write out my journals, goals, weekly plans, etc.
So as I began on the journey I looked all over the internet at videos and blogs to try to figure out how to make the system work best for me as I was an avid GTD user. In the process I discovered the “Spiraldex”, which in my opinion is a brilliant way of mapping out your day. I couldn’t find much out there that incorporated a Bullet Journal system, Spiraldex, and GTD so I just kind of took bits of ideas from others and put it all together.
Also, another thing that I didn’t like was that most Bullet Journal systems didn’t have a Yearly, Monthly, Weekly calendar…so again I got bits and pieces of ideas from others and just it all together into one simple system…well I’m not sure if I should say simple, but hey it works for me! And a lot of others seem to like the style I put together as well.
So here’s the video, check it out and learn the system I use to keep my journal, calendar, daily planner, habit tracking, etc. all in one!
